Overview
BIDD had a challenging section of 800 diameter poly rising main to excavate and install. Works involved open cut excavation alongside overhead power lines requiring full time spotting and in poor ground conditions. Shields and excavation within each shield was needed to carry out works safely and efficiently. Long strings of poly pipe were pulled in to minimise in trench welding.
